    front drive shaft oil seal

Hi can any one give me some advice on replacing a front drive shaft oil seal, i've got the old one out just can't get the new one in. it seems the seal is the same size as the hole it needs to go in to, ive been told i need to hit it with a socket the same size but it looks impossable i've bent the crap out of one already there is no way that seal can go in a hole that is smaller than the seal. please help.

it will be the right size, they are fractionally bigger than the hole.

A Hydraulic press is usually used to put the seal in. But a large socket the same size as the oil seal can be used and hit it square with a Hammer.

Although this is a Butchers Method.. I prefer to use a press.
