Exclamation Is anyone else paying around £2600?

    Hi everyone

I'm new, just bought a impreza 2000 turbo uk and I am a bit shocked by the insurance.

I'm 23 female, no points or anything like that, 1 years no claims and my car has a tracker and a alarm etc, got a 31 year old male on my insurance who's been driving for over 10 years and I'm paying about £2600 odd! I love my motor so its worth it but surely there is cheaper around?

    I'm with admiral.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

    Thanks

    Amber x

hmm, That does sound a LOT of money for a 23 yr old female, had it been Male i would have expected 2k+

I have never found Admiral to be competitive. Buy Max power and call the companies in their adds. I am Certain you will get a Nice saving.

I have a Motor Trade policy and pay less than that.

my 20 year old has a 1.5 turbo mitsu, 2 1/2 years old & pays around 2k with Marks & Spencer insurance - & I thought that was steep!

Got mine via Adrian Flux (from ads in Banzai) much more competitive - give it a go as Derek suggests

Good luck with finding a better price for it

Call Keith Michaels insurance company and ask for a guy called Gary Moulson. I'm 29 but even with all mods declared, running over 500bhp and 3 years ncb and still way under £1000.

Also A-plan are pretty good for price.

Swinton are not to bad but have you tried / moneysupermarket / gocompear / confused.com / I also found if you put a older driver down as well that puts your insurance down quite a bit i have my old man on mine but i am main driver still but it puts my insurance down by £100-£200 with some insurance companys . I also found sometimes it pays and is cheaper to go fully comp than third party . I think its mad how they can all charge diff amounts but they all go by ie were you live / were car parked day - night / alarm - imob / how many miles you do a year /
if car uk - import / if you use car for work & social or just social / in some cases if you are a home owner you can get cheaper insurance / and some give you discount if you are a member of a club etc etc .

    ex :
    older driver ( parent )
car parked day - night ( garage )
    good alarm - imob ( cat 1 or 2 )
    miles a year ( 5000 )
car model uk - import ( uk cheaper )
usage of car ( social )
    insurance ( fully comp )
    home owner ( ? )

Some insureance companys will give you discount for all off the above some will only give you discount for some

bizarely i have found direct line to be the cheapest but a few hundred quid. although mine is unmodified as yet i'm paying around the £750 mark, it also depends on what you put down as your occupation, as librarians are supposed to get some of the cheapest insurance around, or a high cort judge. what other cars are in the house hold, as yoyu can some times het a multi car deal, you just have to try and talk to them to find as many discounts as that company will give you on one policy at once.

best i could get for my 08 STI hatch, was 1000 from admiral, thats wtih 7years no claims as a 25year old.

i found that upgrading alarm and fitting a tracker was gonna save me about 30quid. only worth it if ur in a suspect area i think. luckily i park on a military base haha :P
