Hey all.
Ive taken out my rear parcel shelf so that the tinter could get in to tint the rear window correctly.
To my discust i found some horrible paper cones stuck to the rear of my car. Someone told me they were supposed to be speakers.
ERGH!!!
anyways, more to the point, does anyone have any reccomendations for decent speakers for the parcel shelf and front doors?
I would like alpine as my head unit/screens and other accessories are alpine and i wanna keep it the same.
I wannna change the speakers before i put my car back together as it is was a MAMMOTH task to get that sucker out in the first place.
Cheers

What car have you got?? I have a classic wrx and all the speakers i gought were wrong as the standered ones are like a pond shape!! Im not sure if they are all the same but my local stereo shop ended up cuttin my parcel shelf about and putting alpine 6x9 s in it!! it was a night mare!!
Have a pair of 6 X 9 Pioneer doing nothing if you want um...

i got a 1997 catalunya
the saloon shape.
the speakers are round 5.25 ones with a weird metal bracket holding them in.
i dont really want to go hacking apart my shelf, but i would like some nicer speakers in there.

For the front doors cant go wrong with a pair of Boston SL60s
Their just awsome.........mind you so was the price, but well worth it.

i got some 6.5" co-axis in the rear and 6" components up front
had to cut a bit but got there eventually
as for the fronts , if you buy a fitting adaptor kit designed for a CORSA it will fit better than the SUBARU 1 . . . confused ? ? ? ? ? i was
and its half the price

No need to cut your parcel shelf, just drill holes to mount them.

I had them suspended below the shelf (if you know what i mean) using longish bolts and nuts ;)

ah, i see. doesn't that rattle the shelf?
mine's already been cut for crappy mids so it won't be as hard to make the holes bigger, just so long as they're not so big that i can't mount them properly

nope, just use nuts, bolts and washers, make sure they're tight. Job done
