I'd like to remove the graphite grey surround on the console around the heater controls and stereo for re-painting on my classic shape P1. Is this simply pushed/clipped into place or is there some screws that need to be removed, I don't want to just yank it out and break it!! Again are the heater vents at the top centre of the dash pushed/clipped in place or screwed?

If its any thing like the newage its an easy job
Need to pull the gear gator backwards and slightly upwards when youve pulled it back there should be 2 screws one on either side at the bottom of the console unscrew these.
Then If your brave enougth you need to pull the console free or gently remove by priseing with a screwdriver, ther are two clips on either side that you need to release.
Hope that helps
Have fun

IIRC the new new age i.e. 06 onwards are a little different. Yours I think is the same a mine. Open the cup holder and remove the screw. This will alllow you to remove it. This enables you to get hold of the fascia so that you can gently pull it off. It's then just a matter of disconnecting the controls. Enjoy :)

What about the heater vents by the wing mirrors?

I think that should just prize out. Always good to use a wide thin plastic tool to do it so as not damage anything
