Dear Steve
Thank you for your interest in API Impreza.

The Exedy performance organic is OK around 400 hp we have a number of cars with that running around happily. The problem is the flywheel. The original is a strange affair that has little raised ' castles ' around the edge of it, and the clutch sits inside them. So it's next to impossible to reduce the weight by much. They weigh around 8 Kg's standard and given that we use the GC8s at 7 - 7.5 Kgs after we've lightened them, it seems a fruitless exercise. I would not advocate a weight much lower than 7-ish for road use on a Subaru.

So really all you can do is fit the clutch which costs £380.00 for the whole set including the release bearing.

Our couriers will charge £45.00 for urgent and £21.00 for 3 - 4 day carriage to Guernsey.

VAT does not apply.

If you are in the UK please add VAT [ Sales tax ] to all quoted prices.
If you need more information or I have missed something, or you wish to
place an order, please call me on the sales line above.

Thanks and kind regards
David

not worth changing the flywheel at the moment, but done some tests last night & clutch seems ok for the moment. fingers crossed.

Godammit!! Clutch is slipping like hell, can't go above 80 without the revs suddenly going through the roof. Whats the best advice anyone can give on a replacement. A friend of mine is a mechanical engineer and is going to fit it for me, so I just need parts. Is API (see above) still the best place to get a clutch from as per the forum thread?

Got the car back today with my new clutch fitted by Star Garage in Tamerton Foliot near Plymouth. He also did my transmission and diff oils upon request and my car is like a brand new motor! lovely, thanks! i even noticed subtle touches like my brake fluid had been topped up for me and stuff. I'll be going back there again for sure. £240 for Exedy Organic Clutch (sourced independently by me) and £150 fitting by Star makes me a very happy customer indeed. As for Exedy Organic's, They're smooth, no judder at all up to half engagement, then a sudden thump to full clamp - a positive, reassuring feel.
