Took the car to Tiley's today to arrange some work on it...again...:hysterical: While there I had popped my bonnet and Dave the mechanic found a pipe from the manifold had popped off so the manifold was sucking in air when the car was on boost. Do you think this would make a differance to the RR results I had. The BHP was only down 16-16 bhp I would expect that for differant RR's but the torque was down 30 ft lbs...:rolleyes1:

phill-type-r
31-01-2006, 19:40 29
What you planning on it now bob?

bob
31-01-2006, 19:42 59
Just rerouting some pipework...

Olly P
31-01-2006, 19:47 27
No idea Bob, but it sounds like a good excuse to me.
I think Dazza is using the same one.

bob
31-01-2006, 19:53 42
Dave found the return from the oil catch can had popped off (been smelling the fumes for a few days now) He tells me the car would just suck in air when on boost so wondered if this would make any differance.

Olly P
31-01-2006, 19:57 09
I can't see it being a good thing so I would say yes it would affect the bhp.
But don't some people just put a small filter over this hole? (crankcase breather)

bob
31-01-2006, 20:09 34
What does the filter do then? Just filter the air pulled in by the manifold when on boost and filter the fumes coming out when not? Dave said we would plug this inlet and will reroute the catch can through the iner wing. It stinks like hell everytime I use the heating fan.

scoobyDAZZA
31-01-2006, 21:50 16
my intercooler pipe to the turbo was loose
fell off today lol
fitted it back on properly and it made proper boost immediately
hit 1.2bar on the rollers , now its hitting 1.45
cheap sh1t hose connectors,,grrrrrrrrrrrrr...

That must have been real annoying ScoobyDazza!! :( What did you manage?
