Cornish meet

As of late there have not been any Cornish meets, and the last few attempts failed due to the lack of interest.

So how many Cornish members are there registered on here and how many would turn up to a meet if one was organised?.
Also if any Cornish member has a suggestion about a venue for a meet anywhere that would be helpful.

When i arrange meets it's usually at the county arms truro 3pm on a sunday as it's usually quiet then

I'd come Seffan,Pub at Fraddon has a big car park,easy to get to right on A30.

As long as the meet is at the weekend i'am sure I could make it to some of them.

I've been to the Oystercatcher over looking Polzeath Beach, it very nice fairly large carpark,but I think it would be busy in the summer.

There's also a pub on the edge of Porth Beach, Newquay which has a good size car park. Only know of this because my sister lives in Newquay.

Nan bit too distant that carnon downs one sounds interesting iirc it's possibly that new travel inn so could be interesting, certainly enough room there

It was in the idea that we can start at the bottom and work our way up, people coming from devon wont want to spend the day in one area, could make a good day of it.Frostys is a good idea too, we'll see what our organiser wants to do anyway.

The Forge at Carnon Downs sounds ok frosty, and the thought of a KFC at Penzance crossed my mind too maybe save that one for the summer :cool:

Have been there a few times mate, good grub, big car park, the only thing is, it has recently changed hands, and gone a bit up market, wine barish, so probably worth a call/visit before you sort anything out.

Ok so we went to a few places tonight first off was the Carnon Inn aka the Old Forge, after driving up and down looking for the Old Forge we asked a geezer walking a dog and he pointed us in the right direction. we are all welcome there on a Friday coz they are not so busy then, I asked if it would be ok for everyone to sit together as some would be eating and some not. They said that if someone is sitting at a table and not eating they would be losing money and that they rather have someone sat there who's buying a meal, if we all want to sit together then I have to hire the function room for £40 :eek: . Shant be going there then :fuyou_2: .

Second venue was the Fox and Hounds at Scorrior it was ok if a little small but we are welcome there the menu is quite reasonable too.

Third venue was Tricky Dickies at Tolgus nr Redruth there was plenty of room, pool table, big car park and they serve good food.

I would like to suggest we go to Trickies what does everyone think? and it's gonna have to be a friday.

Theres an idea for the summer, they got a barbecue area that can be rented out. Be good for a meet when the weathers warmer.

Not really made a big hello on the forums because i havent really found a meet near enough to me to go to, i drove out to the west devon meet the other night but didnt pluck up the courage to introduce myself to the 5 people there that sounded like they were scooby owners. (Talking turbos and stuff LOL)

But im in newquay and would love to see a Cornish meet, really wanna meet up with some other scoobies and get to know some more people.

Well he said meet at avers at 7pm but he said about there being heavy tarmacing gear

I'll have a nose in an hour or so and see if the things still there, might be because of that housing development going on
