Project DIY Mesh Grill.
I managed to get hold of some top quality stainless steel woven mesh so decided I would have a go at making myself a new grill.
After removing the front grill it was simply a case of taking out the old black mesh and cutting the new mesh to fit.

The clips that secured the old mesh were used again to hold the new one. Job done, easy so far. :party0040:

Now came the tricky part, I wanted to put the mesh in the lower grill but wanted to set it back a bit so it matched the top grill.
That meant removing the bumper, easier said than done but with a bit of guidance from Derek, off she came …...

Next I cut away the plastic that feeds back to the radiator the distance I want the grill to be set back. And then cut the mesh to fit. The mesh is held on using small black cable ties with a blob of araldite on the back of each tie just to make sure they stay tight.

Re-fit the bumper and bobs your uncle. I got to say I’m well pleased with the result.

And just for comparison this is what it looked like before …….
