I don't know if anyone is aware or interested in this sort of thing but in the past I've been involved with online gaming communities and used IRC for chatting. It works in a very similar way to MSN messenger but has the major advantages of not being produced by Microsoft and it doesn't take over your PC!

What it allows you to do is connect and chat to everyone in real time and more. If anyone is interested I've quickly set up a SWS room for people to try it, there's instructions here on how to get the app and install/set it up:

The Server has achat feature built in, and for a small fee we can upgrade, and it woukd use your forum username and password.

I have not installed it, as the last time we had this it removed the majority of the conversation off the forum. which led to very few posts.

I loaded it there was no one on there so got rid of it again.
