A guy i know has informed me of a couple of scoobie thefts in the last week, from the Plymouth area. Apparently both cars were alarmed up but taken all the same!! I haven't got any specfic details but it maybe best to be on guard.

a white sti3 was nicked from torquay last weekend, 200 yards down the road from my house
recovered the next day in birmingham with the stereo missing and some important documents that he knows shouldn't have been left in the car, well, he knows now.
joy riders according to plod, but if anyone knows where i live then they'd know its like a rabbit warren and no joy riders would 'just happen' to be wondering around. lucky to get it back IMO .

It is a worry! as i live in Plymouth! Just wondering what we can all do to protect our cars?? apart from sitting in them 24/7 or hiring a security guard!! Do you know if these cars had immobilizers? I'm just waiting for somthing to happen to mine! hopfully I will be lucky!

buy the fully encased steering wheel lock 69.99 halfords takes 50minutes to remove and cannot be taken off quietly 10 crims on tv all gave up the last one after 49minutes was asked how he would get it off his replt was use a cordless angle grinder which he did it took him another very noisy 6mins to remove

mine's always in either my garage or my dads , both are 100% secure , the only time it isn't is when i stay in hotels when going to shows/track days etc
but i always stay at hotels where they have got cameras and i always park underneath 1 , and where i can see it by looking out of the window, may be a bit overkill but i can't sleep knowing it isn't locked up in a garage...
i do have cat 1 this and cat 1 that but it still doesn't stop them if they really want it......

when i purchased my scoob, that was one thing that worried me, about it being stolen, how ever i decided to have tracker fitted and employ RAC to look over it 24hrs aday. i think its worth while 120 quid a year or 320 for life time membership. also i have a steering lock that locks around the steering wheel and just spins when tried to remove.
how the next security feature will be an electronic gate to keep the bersterds out and my car in, or mybe i could just wire the steering wheel to a 240 volt supply, maybe they might not steel again after a little kick from powergen. lol.

Hi Fred! Yeah I know what you mean!! I went down to Halfords the other nite! I think I'm gonna pick up a steering lock! I think they are around 79 quid!
However I have been informed that my car that I just bought has a tracker fitted!! not sure what this device looks like,, I'm just wondering how I can find out if one is fitted, and what I need to look for??? is it fitted near or in the Engine bay or inside the car??
