White Screen

I do a post the screen goes white - I hit "BACK" and it goes back to saying thank you for posting and then I see my post is there - whats that all about?

Hav ehad that twice today so far - once was when I was logging in

right - just found it happens if I use post reply icon but not quick reply Icon - happened again when I put a post in Muppets

i have trawled all the settings and all are ok, have not had it so do not know where else to look.

If anyone else gets this please say so here.

Was getting this last night...Post then white page, so hit refresh and all was well. Seemed every time I posted I got this.

probably the wire u brought in from outside.

I have just upgraded to a new version of vb.

Stripped the wire and connected orange to No 2 and white to No 5. Was told The phone was connected so gave it a ring on the mobile...Yes it rang...whoopie I thought. Picked up the phone and it carried on ringing...:hysterical: :hysterical: :hysterical: So swapped theorange and white wires over but got nothing. Put them back as they were and now still have nothing...:frown:

I had this problem with my connection upstairs Bob,

if you like i can check the color of the wires and what No's they go to.

Think I have the wires correct, checked it out on the net...:rolleyes1: But as the wires are now dead think there is a break in them somewhere. Wire seems very brittle and I have cut back the wire a few times but run out of wire now so cannot recut anymore or I will have the phone on the roof...:hysterical:
BT are coming out Tuesday to sort it...

Seems the only time I can post properly is after midnight.. Think most my probs are the connection is so slow I sit waiting for mins just for one post. I then get fustrated and start random clicking....:rolleyes1:

I did notice I could go through the forums ok but when posting it was just so slow I gave up...Mind you all my forums were suffering at the same time, so I believed it was my connection again...Tis like lightening now though...:smile:

untill tonight we were still using NS1.HU.net and NS2.HU.net

we are now on our own Nameservers.

ns1.southwestscoobies.org.uk & ns2.southwestscoobies.org.uk

access to here was being routed via the old server. now it is not.

have also found the email to be instant where before i was always waiting for 4-5 mins on average from when it was sent till it was recieved and vice versa.

sounds like your connection was dodgy - we are with Orange but only suffered on here

I have a netmeter which shows download speed this time of night its showing 500+ kb/s in the afternoon or late evening its 1 kb/s sometimes less...

got green bars here and at the mo on all Forums they are flying across - but not getting that damn white screen so both probs I had have been sorted

my net meter shows 105kbs will see what i get in the daytime.

before i close this thread did you try the Sws support swstem. as this is just a suggestions area.

Just hope I get better speed when going onto BT...Netmeter will come in handy when on that as it shows the weekly mothly and yearly download. It a 40gig limit on BT I believe.

could you just try a test ticket, as i have not had one for a very long time. not sure if it still works.

the 40gb limit is not a Hardline.

when you read the TOC book that comes through, any unused bandwidth carries over, but if you do use all your bandwidth up they do NOT disconnect you.

If you use it up on a regular basis they may ask you to pay an additional premium though.

just found the totals feature.

this months data transfer 46387.2 :eek:
that works out at around 47GB and its just the 9th
46GB was transfered last week when i was moving all the forum over.

best hope they do not charge me for using that much.

it shows you submitted a ticket but i cannot access, it without a VB error.

as i upgraded to a new version of Vbuletin today, maybee the support needs an update to work, as everything is set right.
