Haunted House Challenge
Join Wiltshire's GWR FM on Halloween for a night of ghost hunting at the spooky Red Lion Inn in Avebury, and raise money for children throughout Swindon and Wiltshire.
GWR KIDS has got together with The Red Lion and UK SPI Paranormal Investigations to bring you this exciting and spooky night.
The night will start with a buffet and non-alcoholic drinks (alcohol affects the investigation) to warm you up for the night ahead followed by a workshop where you will learn how to investigate the ghostly goings on of the pub. You will then be split in to groups to explore the rooms with a paranormal investigator until coffee and tea are served at the break of dawn.
Details of the Haunted House Challenge
The event takes place on Tuesday 31st October from 8.30pm until 4am.
Places will be allocated on a first come first served basis, on receipt of a cheque.
All participants must be 18 or over.
Venue: Red Lion Pub, Avebury, Wiltshire.
Registration fee: £10 per person.

The story of the Red Lion is that during the Civil War of the 17th century, a woman called Florrie and her soldier husband lived at the inn. He was called away to the war and Florrie who was left behind subsequently took a lover.
One night her husband returned unexpectedly from the battle and discovered his wife's infidelity and in a fit of rage shot his rival and slit Florrie's throat. He then threw her body down the well and sealed it with a huge boulder. Apparently Florrie still roams the rooms of the inn after 400 years!
