Been with Direct line for years - not because they are the cheapest, but they've always paid out quick and, in the past, quite generously too

However, I just had my renewal through. Can't really argue with the £600 quote, but I do take issue with the £105 NCB protection charge :fuyou_2:

Anyone else bother with NCB protection ? You think it's worth it ?

it is worth it, 105 notes is a bit steep though, mine cost 27 quid, and i have FNCB

Quite some time back I use to have protected NCB. I had a car stolen and found burn't out... and was paid out by the insurance company. The next years premium was up by about £500 so phoned and asked why. Was told this was there best price take it or leave it. I phoned another insurance company who said my NCB was not valid with them as I had made a claim with last insurance company.. They still insured me and gave me 20% NCB which worked out much cheaper than the first insurance company with full NCB...

Never bothered with it after that.

im with virgin, NCB protection is about £40 but if you want to pay up in monthly installments they do not charge extra, and you get online discount as well, its worth a try
