but sadly with no re-map :j_sad:
Its the wrong model or something :j_sad:
But on the plus side of things, everything else is done  The ninja was a nightmare to fit because of the 6 speed conversion but its fitted and is running so much better  One of the down pipe gaskets where completely gone and was leaking so its been replaced
I'm changing front brakes as well, anyone interested in the front Brembo's I have? I'm getting some Stoptech 330mm conversion brakes done
Also is a VF24 any good? I've been recommended to try and or change to a VF35?? Anything different about them?

I was kinda shocked at having the VF24, I thought I was meant to be having the VF28... No matter
Shame the mapping hasnt been done :frown: But I've hopefully managed to sell the Apexi so I think that's a good thing  Also had Paul at Zen (the gent that would map it) with me in the car getting up to the 7500rpms saying the car is running fine  I'm happy for the moment
Just watch and wait tho

No sorry ED....All APexi ecu's can be mapped....Chances are it is just the wrong model...
Subarus are broken down into three categories for APexi ecu's..
93 - 96 cars use an A - C model ecu...four connector plugs
96-98 cars use a D - E model ecu....3 connector plugs
98-00 cars use a F-G model ecu....dont know never seen one....lol...
A VF24 turbo is ok for 350bhp as BethandGraham will tell you but you do have to be carefull how much boost you run..1.2 - 1.3 bar max..
On a standard topmount we saw 320bhp and 310lbft of torque from Grahams car..
On the front mount the hp climbed to 345bhp and the torque to 320lbft..
A vf34 would yield about the same but at a higher boost level...If you are looking for more than this you could go for a TD05/20g from Paul or Andy F , or we supply a hybrid for 400bhp.....
Any questions feel free to send me a pm...

Well I'm after more torque rather than power...
Apparently I have been told I could run 1.45bar on what I have but I think the top mount would be the weakest link to be honest...
I've a 98 which means a 3 pin model, but not like the one I was sold sadly :frown: Isnt a problem...
I've got a list of things I'd like done:
Bigger turbo (VF35??)
Front mount intercooler
Oil cooler
Headers
Brakes
Re-map
If there's anything else that can be done for more torque, BRING IT ON!!
This is gonna be done over a few months, if not a year or more...

Yes the topmount would defo be the weakest link...Paul may know something I dont but having had a conversation with Turbo Dynamics last week ref the capabilities of the vf24 , the info I received stated that the shaft is prone to snapping at anything greater than 1.3 bar...This is why I stopped where I did with Grahams car..I could just as easily of mapped it for more boost but was happy that I had achieved what I set out to do...The hybrid we sell has produced 344bhp at just 1 bar of boost in tests conducted on our rollers..

can i ask what model you have because i got a 98 uk turbo and i'm thinking about having a power fc fitted and what were zen performance like good/bad and was it easy to get too.

I'm unsure with the things he would be doing as its car stuff, I just wanted stuff doing!!
Zen Performance are great for advice and everything. They really do know what they are doing as they tell you what you want rather than what you want to hear. They use their own cars to test the parts out rather than rely apon the customers.. Which I find ideal. They are always there to offer advice and help to you, regardless of the query...
I have a 98 Type R (Import) which has the port plug, but I think its the bigger plug rather than the smaller plug.... :frown:

IIRC ScoobyDazza runs a VF44 turbo....may be worth having a chat to him about spec etc.

I'm not after major power just loads of torque!!
I'm not gonna be able to afford a new turbo for awhile so first stop is the re-map and brakes  But as Paul has said, its running fine on the standard ECU, I might leave it a bit and get things done a bit later.
Besides, got to sale the Brembo's first!! Well, sort of!!....

just curious how much would you want for your brembo's and were they oe or after market

I've been told that I could sell them for about £600 for the fronts and they where aftermarket for me, due to mine being a type R 98 model I had to change the hubs, so they might not fit classics.
