Hi guys, I have just taken GFB mach 1 Dump valve off my my99 wagon because it was a bit too loud to be honest. In your opinions what do you think is the best dump/ssqv valve on the market? i was looking at a HKS , but is there better.( I kinda like the whistle sounding valves) And can anyone tell me, A mechanic mate said that cheap dump valves can help to ruin MAFF sensors by letting hot air flow back into the air box<< is this true???
cheers

Personally I'd stick with the standard valve or a Forge recirc replacement.

For noise I believe the HKS ones are good

I just bough a huge dump valve, its 3 times the size of my forge valve and it so loud vents into the atmoshpere :D

so if anyone wants a forge valve ive got one for sale (will put details in the for sale), not to loud but noticable as i was told driving up to SW festival of motoring with you guys and girls.

Been told by the of the best UK mappers the VTA dump valve I had fitted (HKS) was not MAF friendly so expect there is truth that VTA dump valves are not MAF friendly. He told me to get a Forge Re-circ Valve. So my vta dump valve only lasted me 4 days..TBH I did not get on with it and the noise did drive me crazy I would end up changing gear before any boost so as to keep the thing quiet. I also found the VTA caused the car to surge when trying to keep a steady throttle. Also noticed a small amount of lag.
Anyway bought the WR1 and it had a VTA on it and I found the same thing so first thing was to change back to original...

Noise really got on my nerves and I felt like a bit of a d**k when it went off.

Matter of personal preference....if I had another turbocharged car I wouldn't fit a VTA on.

alot of chatter from the wastegate Del

try it and see , , my mapper advised me to put mine back on , so i did , had it mapped saturday , he managed to get the power figures ON THE ROAD,
it made 348 bhp, which is a bit up on normal but got 362 lbs/ft torque , which is 15 up :) , , just optimax . . he did map it a bit more aggresively this time, holding boost really well, hitting 1.5 mid range, dropping to 1.4 at the top

my mapper advised me to leave it on with a vf series turbo but would be ok without it on a TD turbo , i know olly has a vf and has had no problems but Martyn at AJ advised me the same as my mapper so i decided to actually listen to someone forra change lol
