Turbo

hi,

Looking for a little help,

My subaru is a 1.6 gl model, and i have found out that over in japen they did a Turbo verion of my engine, Now i was wondering how i could go about converting mine into aturbo if indeed possible,

Just fancy having a laugh trying to do a majour mod on my car.

Let me know wat u think, and if u have any ideas how i could do it

think it might be possible.....

small turbo unit,zorst system,ic,headers,sure its possible....

if a turbo can be bolted onto a 1.4 civic,1 can be bolted onto a 1.6 scoob.....

Compression ration and mapping/fuelling are going to be the major problems.

The first can be sorted with the use of gaskets and/or dished pistons but it's not going to be cheap. The second will require the fitment of an aftermarket ecu so the car can be set up properly.

be cheaper to buy a half decent 93 wrx

don't forget to add on price of

brakes
suspension
clutch
gearbox
INSURANCE

flog it and go for the wrx IMHO

As Dazza says...probably better off just selling up and buying a WRX.

In the long term it'll probably end up costing less and will be more reliable
