View Full Version : Oil Catch Can
Been getting a bit of fume in the car from the oil catch can and the vent is routed to half way under the car (about passenger seat area)
So today I have tried routing the vent back into the system. Seems to be OK and no fumes anymore. Will keep my eye on it...

Mines piped back into the inlet. Its showing signs of oil (slight build up in pipes) but nothing in the tank to speak of.
Is there anything showing on the sighting tube?
There is some showing, will have to dump it soon. Might be water though, I hear the catch tank will fill with condensation in 5-6000 miles. Used about half a pint of oil since fitting the catch can (5000 miles) before I used a pint every 1000 miles. Shows how much a larger turbo will suck up.

piping back to the inlet defeats the object of not putting oil vapours into the inlet thus creating det......attach a length of hose to the outlet of the can and route it out the inner wing......

I did think aboutthis when rerouting it back to the inlet. This way seems the same but with the exception of having a catch can in the line. I will have a go at rerouting it out the inner wing and see if this is OK. Just hope the smell does not come back.
