My sprint WRX RA is now up to 318 BHP following a mapping session with Martyn at enginetuner.co.uk
I'm following the most bang for your buck strategy with a Apexi ECU we got to 280 BHP and now with the FMIC and remap now up to 318 BHP. So 78 BHP gain for just over a £1k. (FMIC DIY!)
This is on standard 380cc injectors and turbo, no money left to improve there unless used items come along.
Lee.

nice tidy figure, what other mods does it have, and what year is the car?

Its a 1993 WRX RA, TSL back box (£150 bargain) de cat, Apexi power FC + Flat four FMIC, HKS induction, 4 pots with EBC yellow stuff, P1 wheels + Toyo parada's.
Delighted with the performance, all I have to do now is learn how to drive it!!
The tyres are the next area of change, looking at Toyo 888 or Yoko Advan 302's on 16" wheels, I hope they will be lighter than 17's and should fit over the 4 pots.
sounds very good value for money spent must be very happy with the result so far well done.

Sweet figure on that RA mate. "All I need to do is learn to drive it" - Yeah, whatever?!! Ha ha.

jammy bugger 318bhp. mines only got 290bhp
spent small fortune on my sti v2 - sti 5 forged pistons, eagle forged rods, sti tripple layer head gaskets, stainless headers, downpipe, centre + back box, uprated fuel pump,550cc injectors, fuel pressure regulator, parrallel fuel rail mod,k+n induction kit, crankcase + rocker breather to oil catch tank, sti 3 intercooler, forge dump valve, greedy profec b boost controller, apexi power fc. and only got 290bhp. need a fmic i think but got no dosh left.

What sort of torque figure is it making? BHP is less relevent than torque!
Turbo and mapping makes all the differance...

yep but it's the torque not the bhp thats giving you that push in the back feeling. the more torque the better!!
Don't know much about torque only had 380 ft lbs but it did go quite well...

Doing Well there Lee. 'Tis good to have friends in the right places:wink:
FWIW Regarding tyres I'd be inclined to stick with the 17's. They'll cope with the increased output better,16" won't fit over the gold brembo's and the discs will stay cooler and therefore less likely to crack.

Did it? With only 380 ftlb, I'm surprised you could feel anything. :hysterical:

yeh torque was 295 i think  cant remember cus i was a bit gutted at the time. previous rolling road was 304bhp with 275 torque on standard sti ecu. since then fitted sti3 intercooler,k+n induction, stainless headers, apexi power fc,550cc injectors, uprated fuel pump, fuel press regulator.
now only put out 290bhp but torque is up. i suppose ive at least got it mapped for uk fuel so less chance of engine det (again :sad-smiley-046: ) just thought i would of got around 310/320bhp mark with what ive done, unless mapping is not quite right not sure, mapping was done very well and he does know what he is doing got a good track record but everyone has an off day.maybe time for fmic to get more power(when ive got some more dosh)

That's a good spec...sounds like a strong engine ready for a big turbo and a remap...that'll get you well over 300

I'm only at 282bhp and about 270lb torque, but then, I've only added a cat back exhaust system so far!!
