Took the car out for the second time since put the engine in, and guess what.

she starts to miss before i get out the street, i think it cant be out of petrol yet....... Can it?

So goes and puts some petrol in.

and it is still missing bad. tried to put my foot down, to see if it clears, but it did not, even in 2nd at 6000rpm i could only make 0.69 bar boost

however all the time it was popping and bannging, suggesting unburnt fuel.

Not good. :sad-smiley-046:

i took it home, and disconnected the coilpack wiring one at a time, found its the left front thats not firing, or ????

now i have to hope its a coilpack or a plug. and need to borrow one from somewhere to try.....

i guess the other problems could be a knackered cam, bent valv etc.

but why would it not boost?

might be actuator, I have a MBC, so some ne Silicone pipe, from turbo to MBC then from MBC to Actuator.

so would net expect any splits, as i am using a MBC, it wont be the Boost controll Solanoid.

i have just checked all other vaccume pipes, they are all good, and i can blow through them.

ok so pipe theory down the drain...

(not a small child stuck in the scoop!!)LOL:backtotopic:

induction piping all secue and tight,no blowing zorst gaskets...

missfire should be the coil pack down...

have you got a spark?

induction pipes are all secure, pipes have small holes and need replacing, but this had been like it for a while.

all Zorst gaskets are new except the tubby to downpipe, which is not blowing, as no Black soot on my exhaust wrap.

err, i think the scoop is all clear. LOL

atleast scoop is clear!LOL..

reakon the miss is a downed coil pack,if it has an irregular or intemitant spark, thats the prob.....

i have just got one of MR H's Coil Packs to try and 3 of his old plugs.

only its just started to Thunder, and pour down with Rain.

All sorted.

The plug had had it, tried a plug in my coil pack and got a Spark, so removed my plug, put it into the coilpack and no spark.

I now have 3 6's and 1 7 but its running much smoother.

the boost however was another issue, The bolt on the Blitz that secures it to the mounting bracket had come loose and fallen out, this also holds the adaptor onto the BOV this had a rather large gap allowing all the boost to escape. Put another bolt in, and now i am hitting 1.7Bar of boost and 63 on the knock meter.

but injector duty is only at 92% i am using the injectors that came with the new engine, std grey ones. where my original ones were at 100% duty at 1.1 Bar boost.

so i had a Big smile on my face when i tested it just now.

me too, and she is achieving a lot more boost, probably far too much.
