strange noise

on tickover there is nothing but as the revs get to about 3000 theres a definite "rattle"

think it may be the turbo, any way i can check?

have found the problem now, due to a leaking connection on a power steering pipe half the fluid has drained out and been replaced by air in the system. The strange noise was coming from the power steering pump and since the connection has been tightened and the fluid has been topped up the noise seems largely to have gone. It does however resurface every so often but i assume this to be air bubbles in the lines and so i`ll keep an eye on the fluid level

probably got a series of locks in there....not sure if you can bleed it or not....

had to top it up again today so looks like i have got a few locks, i`ll just keep watching it to see

To bleed it I think you just take the cap off, engine running, and go from lock to lock several times.
