Big arguments have been going on for a long time about the Impreza WRX Type RA 2 door V-Limited... So I have been trying to look them up but just cannot find any info that says they have been made. If its a WRX and V-Limited the info I have is.

WRX 4 door STi Version 3 V-Limited GC8D4ED
WRX Wagon STi Version 3 V-Limited GF8D5ED
WRX 2 door Type R STi Version 4 V-Limited GC8E2DD
WRX 4 door Type RA STi Version 4 V-Limited GC8E4DD

Although it is stated in the brochures I have, the WRX 2 door is a Type R BUT the pic's show RA badges..This makes it confusing as its sugesting the car is a Type R with RA badges.

V-Limited's were only built as Version 3's or Version 4's, and from what I can fine out the only Type RA V-Limited as a 4 door. The next year the V5 LTD came out.
I have never got to the bottom of this and would love to find they are about or not.
Most say only 2 doors are Type R's and all Type RA's are 4 door..but i'm not sure.

Well this'll confuse you a bit more then. It took me a while to figure out what it was:

Chassis/Model = GC8E27D

Its badged as a WRX and a type R and has V-limited plaque. and it's a V5

Its a silver top engine but i've had it stripped down and it has full STI internals with an IHI blower.

It has no manual diff

It has climate control

It has no intercooler spray

run that through the books and you'll come up stumps

:hysterical: :hysterical: Silver top is WRX Type R or WRX RA no DCCD is WRX Type R or WRX RA Climate control was option on all WRX's. Intercooler spray was STI.
With the number you gave me that makes it even worse...:hysterical: :hysterical:

So its listed as a WRX Type R V-Limited and a Special edition 2 door RA...
Perhaps thats why the brochers say Type R and show pic's of one badged up as RA. Even Subaru don't know...:hysterical:

It was 300PS standard and all RA's supposedly had no creature comforts.

Even mine is listed as 300ps but on our fuel its more like 280 as std. Have seen your RA model car on a few sites manufactured in 97 sold as 98 but with 99 looks. It seems even the owners really don't know what model it is...as far as I can see its a WRX Type R Special Eddition RA....:hysterical: :hysterical:

Mate, another confusing item. Its kevlar with painted base and uprights with exposed carbon top!?!?!?! Came into uk with it on!!
