The stuff used for insulating pipes, The glass fibre stuff wraped in silver foil. Would this be ne good for insulating exhuasts? Im more thinking of just using the outer foil to wrap my lagged sections to stop them geting wet. Opinions?

Even foil can burn! IMHO I'd get proper wrap for the job. GO and see Carl. It's not that expensive

Oopps. Just re read your post and you've already wrapped them. There is this stuff:
"Silicone Spray:
The HT Silicone Coating™ provides lasting protection for any hot surface up to 1500 degrees. We recommend the use of this coating with exhaust wrap because it seals the material and provides lasting protection from oil, dirt and road grime. Can be used on headers, blocks, starters and even on your grill at home."
It's high temp resistant and designed and sold for the job of coating wrap. All for the grand price of £10.50. That's from an irish website so the price may be different in sterling.
