Was winding me car up got to about 70mph was running just under 1bar boost when boost pressure dropped to 0.1bar and a little puff of blue smoke came out of the bonnet scoop pulled over could not find anything, running very lumpy now and when reved blue smoke comes out of the dump valve the induction kit and the exhaust.

Blue smoke is usually oil burning mate and it doesn't sound good that it's now running lumpy either, a blown turbo wouldn't make the engine run lumpy either.
(louise black smoke is usually due to over fuelling) ;)

well theres no water and oil mixing so not head gasket, so could have blown a piston,it only runs lumpy on tickover and it's just gutless.

i'd do a compression test or get one done and see what that comes up with mate..hope its nothing too bad.

Same thing happened to me.
You want to hope its the turbo seals which are letting oil past, hence blue smoke.
You don't want it to be a piston ring, which is what mine was, that lets oil passed and into the induction which means more blue smoke.
Compression test is a good idea.

yeah i know im hoping but if it was the turbo seals that would'nt make it run lumpy would it.

wat sort of money am i looking at if it is rings?.

if its rings, it depends if the ring has snaged and damaged the Bore.

if it has then its not going to be cheap.

new liner and a set of rings. or another seconehand engine. would be the Road to go down.

A friend blew his turbo but that was with a Knackered wastegate, this put so much oil into the bores it was flooding the engine on tickover.

Take the intercooler off and see if its covered in oil. Would show if its the Turbo.

if you have a FMIC, its only 1 pipe to remove and much easier to check.

Ouch money.
Depends what you want to do.
If its marked the bore then you'll need a rebore and oversize piston, and you'll have to do all four.
If you don't plan on keeping the car then a replacement second-hand engine may be the answer.

thats not a prob on me watch list anyway, would a repair kit be worth looking at if it's just the seals?.gonna start stripping it out 2morrow so will know exactly where i stand.

there was'nt much in the housing pictured above but there was a fair bit in the turbo tmic and the inlet manifold the picture above just shows the half of the coupling mount where turbo and the housing join is missing

Got the turbo at last and fitted it but not looking good, still smoking like dot cotton and is mis-firing.but not blowing smoke out of the dump valve or the induction kit anymore so it must of been part of the problem.
