can you not just remove the geek squad software in control panel then programs and features then try to install the game again

the other thing is that it is a virus software and it is stopping you from installing cause wow(the game you are trying to install) plays online so you might have to dissable the geek squad till you install wow

if you are running vista all you need is the key that will no doubt be on a label on the laptop then see if any of your mates have the original vista disk use that to reinstall but use your key from the label make sure its the same version as what your key is for, tyhen you can just reformat the whole hard drive and start from scratch as long as you have all the drivers, if not take a note of all the componants then download the drivers and save to a cd for the reinstall, sorry thi sis all the info i think ican help you with

remember you really only pay for the key so you can legally use another disk as long as you use your key if you have lost your disk, or you can reboot from the recovery partiacian on the hard drive if there is one.

i have virgin broadband matey, and will be running the laptop of it too. it for down the loved ones home. which she also has. i just looked everywhere on the laptop to try and remove the geek squad softwear, but no luck. it is like a protection softwear and i have to say its good. but its a shame the other guy didnt take note of the passwords when he bought it. if i cant access it once i try the reboot via disk i my have to buy another hard drive .

when you reboot after wiping hard disk it will be a clean install with just windows unless the geek squad is part of the reboot partion then you will have to use a windows disk and reinstall from that mate it is very easy just follow the instruction when you run disk

As Dougie Say's Insert a windows CD.... boot from cd format all existing partitions and install..
By booting from the CD geek will NOT be running so you can install windows.
