to insure a uk turbo and jdm turbo respectivly, to pay about £1500 fc ?
im coming up to 20 with 3 years ncb, however i dont think its enough for a uk turbo yet really is it.
im tempted by a sport but 115hp seems Soooooooooo low!!

I done a few quotes for my sons mate who is 20 on a classic wrx. Only got quotes back if he was over 21. Then it was over £2000.

i dont get it, surely a 260hp 200sx is more dangerous, being rwd, yet quotes for them are around £1100......

Good point but it's all done on figures and due to the Imprezas profile and popularity now with younger drivers it looks like insurance costs are rising fast
the UK turbo should be easier for you to insure. Some insurance companies class it as category 16 whereas the JDM models are at least 17. expect around £2k though due to your age. At 21 mine was £1600

OMG that's a good quote. Curiously Privilege is owned by Direct line and invaribly gives better quotes/ quotes where DL won't! Maybe worth a try too!

I hate insuring my car :frown:
I have 9 years no claims, no points, not claims against or for me and no speeding fines and I still have to pay £1900 :(

I managed to get it down to £143 a month with a £350 deposite, with Endsleigh. I do have 2 years no claims. but if you are young trying to get a scooby on da road, put either ur mother or farther on ur insurance as a named driver, and it can drop the price by up to 15%. thats what i did. Insurance is in my name but me old man is down as a named driver. And tell them not to wry because if u crash it dnt effect there no claims, just yours :(.
Try doing a quote on here http://www.moneysupermarket.com/motor/
Hope this helps any1 that wants a scoob but cant get the insurance.
yup - thats a good way.
also direct line will give named drivers no NCB but then direct line generally charge extortinate rates for modded cars - thats why i ditched them!
sounds to me like you have REALLY well to get that mate.

The uk 2000 turbo is the cheepest to go for i did a few quotes and i found ( performance direct ) were the best i am 28 with 5 years nc and i have got an STI inport . I tried loads and every one was over the 1K mark i tried PD as was told they were good and they got my insurance down to under £500 .
I no of another way of getting insurance down and that is to put your old man or someone that has been driving for longer with more nc on you policy as another driver but keep yourself as the main driver i found this puts your insurance down by over £100 .

Ha
so being old :character0032: does have it's advantages then, i'm 34 and only paying £550 fully comp for a P1 through Tesco.
But when i tried to add my 23 yr old girlfriend as a named driver they refused so went on moneysupermarket.com and got quoted £3200 for her as lone driver fully comp and £2800 as a named driver so she ain't driving my car LOL :party0006:
