Yes Mate...
First ever run on the Strip... 12.02 He does not have any launch control or Anti-lag... and tried launching about 1200 RPM...
His next two runs... were slower as he was agian trying to launch with too little revs...
His forth and final run today i believe he done a 12.0 with a terminal speed of 117 MPH
I will confirm tomorrow.
But think he is going for a 5K launch tomorrow...

Managed a 11.97 on my last run before I left today. I was fairly pleased with that for my first time out there.
Yesterday it was too busy - got 4 runs in 5 hours and was only out of the queue for about 15minutes.
I completely screwed a couple of starts yesterday and then was repeatedly red-lining as I was going through the 6 speed gears too quickly.
This morning I wanted to get more runs in so had another go but there was very little grip off the line. There was lots of fog and the track was a bit damp.
The last run was quickest to 1/8th and 1/4mile
1/8 mile 7.7277 (91.2mph)
1/4 mile 11.9727 (116.4mph)
Fastest at 1/8 94.27mph
Fastest at 1/4 119.44mph

A lesson from Dazza on how to drive by the sounds of it!
Seriously though I think I need to work on technique

You need some decent rubber too Screechy , alright having all that power and torque but it's usless if you can't get it down...
The six speed is a little harder to get decent times out of due to the lower gearing but there is a low 11 in that car..

i did an 11.203 and an 11.24 today
practice screecho  i've been doing this for 3 years and have done it 4 times this year breaking my PB everytime  this time last year i did an 11.824 and the only difference between then and now is a simtek ecu with launch and 15% methanol. difference in power is about 38 bhp.
i'm getting very consistent around the mid 11s , did 4 runs at 11.54 / 11.57 / 11.52 / 11.59 , all 4 of them were with bad launches (1.85 on 60 foot) then the 'quick' runs i managed a 1.73 on 60 foot, launched straight as an arrow and did the 11.2s . terminals all weekend were between 124 and 126 . i've got a video of my 11.203 which i will be posting as soon as photobucket let me, i was heads up with Richard Batty (quickest FTO in the UK) he also did a PB in that race of 11.09 , i had the better reaction and crossed the line just before him .
my quickest run gave me an 1/8th of 7.1

Cheers Dazza. Top result for you mate.
I've got some knackered Yokohamas on at the mo which isn't helping and if I wasn't going travelling in January I would get the launch control fitted.
If I can squeeze another session in before I go then you will be getting a PM with some more detailed technical questions!!!
However it was fun completely destroying an Audi RS4 twice!! (although not so much when beaten by a Nova - found out afterwards it was running over 400bhp though).
How many runs did you get in the day as I was a bit disappointed at Santa Pod on Saturday. 4 runs in 5 hours! Sunday was 4 runs in 2 1/2 hours so not too bad.

told you to get your a55 to stratford , on the saturday you'd have done 50 runs.
i did just a few as i didn't want to tempt fate.
2 years ago i broke 3 times out of 5 on the saturday which meant i missed the sunday when i was entered into the old jap racer series.
you can ask away anytime bud but remember i'm still learning , i can only pass on my knowledge that i know at the moment  but as Martyn says you really do need decent rubber, i'm on toyo 888s and still nearly spun the bastid on 1 of my launches , i even lifted on 1 of them as i almost sh1t myself
there's a wagon that goes there running 520 bhp and he's in the mid 10s , weighs absolutely nothing, everything that can be removed has been, he runs on dunlops semi slicks , i haven't tried other tyres but from what i read the toyos heat up quicker but wear quicker , swings and roundabouts.
ps - video of my new PB is in the general discussion
