Should NON Subaru's Be allowed on Stand At Shows

No i would like to remind those who say NO that SWS Won Best Club stand at Crealey with a Renault 5 GT Turbo as the center piece...

But then equally as Important it seems Judges are not taking into consideration we are meant to be an owners and enthusiasts club.. Not an Owners Club...

IMO. If we are only allowing Subaru's on stand then we are on owners only club.

This is a hard one as i have had a car on the stand and it was not a subaru but i would of not been offended if i was told i could not be on the stand i would still go to all the shows but either park in the carpark or depending on the car i had go with another club but it would not change the fact that i am still a subaru freak lol and would still come over to the club stand to say hi as i have sold my scooby 3 times now and everytime gone back to one im hooked now no going back .

Well your view obviously differs from the Advanced members Tiny... I have just Moved a poll into the sws Polls area..

This clearly shows the Members want to make the effort to WIN.... So to the Paid members Winning does Matter...

It also Matters to me... I see no point in going and showing off my car on a stand if we are not going to put in the effort to win...

I have always been competitive... and if i cannot compete and be in with a chance of winning then i see no point in competing at all...

Hence if SWS was not trying to win best stand i would rather put my car on a stand that is Trying to win..

My opinion as a non subaru owner.

I am happy to park with the door dingers, I feel the SWS stand should be subaru only...............and I also feel it should be Impreza's only.

But, thats my opinion...................for which I am entitled.

However, if there is no trophy up for grabs, then non scoobs would probably be okay.

If your showing to win, then show to win, IMHO non scoobs on the stand looks a bit naff.

Wrong.. I voted that they should not be allowed...

I agree it should be Just Subaru's... But when D wanted Just Subaru's at Rally day last year the members Voted against it..

So the Members got what they wanted... as this is what the Members wanted I am Defending their right.... and trying to put forward their Case... when the vote went up we only had 38 paid members.

As for the Rough Subaru's Its not Just Subaru's It is any car i am referring to... My escort is not show condition and My white Impreza was not...

It is my Honest opinion if we are restricting the stand to Just Impreza's then if the car is in the same or worse condition that my White Impreza was... That it should not be on the Stand...

We are dumping the Non Subaru's to try and win... when the Judges walk around and see a :sign0187: car on stand be it an Impreza or an escort they will mark us down.. so if its hanging... park it with the Dingers...

I asked Ed to allow us to put it on Stand... and he was the one who told me how well it worked... i did not know as i went around Crealey.

Here`s another example for you: Would you display your impreza at fordfair? Also, if you`re going to only show decent looking subaru`s you are then only going to create more opinion based arguments. For example, I wouldn`t let anything Monza kitted in. Canyou see the problems this could cause?

Personaly I think its in the name "southwest SCOOBIES" if I went to a show and lost to a non scoobie on the "southwest scoobies" stand id be bitterly disapointed. However, I think MAYBE we should allow everyone on the site as im sure we wouldnt stop an enthusiast joining if they dont have a car??

i was speaking to some people last night that went to the show, an they said our stand looked stupid haven other cars on stand, seeing that were a scooby club, other clubs dont do it,

they did have one good idea i thought, we could vote for best car on stand, have it parked in the middle of stand under a gizibo with the rest around it,

that sounds like a good idea having best car under gazebo with other cars round it but how do you choose best car without upsetting members.

if you go for that idea you would need a poll put up and by ekk the ways its going at the moment that would be a long day .

what i was thinking of ie for rally day was using the cars that look like rally cars ie blue with the yellowish graphics in the middle ie one on the left one on the right ,possible one in the middle if we have 2 or more .then we can use steve555 car in there aswell as he has RB signature on the side .

loads of othe ideas aswell .

ther was a mention of some sail flags or something lets get them and really show people this club is back on its feet.

could have a board by the gazebo with pics of members so the public be able to reconise the members .

name badges so if a member of the public spoke to you and joined the site that evening and mentioned your name that shows a good thing.

thanks chris , it all seems to me that there is so much debate going on about who what and when that everyone is forgetting the fundermental issue , is this a club about subaru heritage or about a club that is slowly losing it's own image because of all the in fighting, i want to be an advanced member but until the structure of this club and it's image is sorted out i will not be doing so .me i love my car and all it stands for . so it is not mint but for a car that is 15 years old and not having bottomless pockets i think i am doing a good job in looking after it . but if i pay my membership i believe i should have the right to put it on a subaru stand , and so should other subaru owners .

it was a test poll to get members points of view...

It may be a case that Non Subaru's will not be allowed on Stand...

I do not believe the club would prevent any Subaru being on stand.. be it in Mint condition... or if you have a scooby with 3 doors and some tarpollin where the 4 should be you can go on stand lol..

as this is what the Members are saying.

The New Committee Structure is well under way and will be in place by This time next Sunday.

I am a Member of Migweb... a Vauxhall owners Club... When i Sold My Cavalier Turbo and bought my Scooby i was still allowed to take my Scooby to Shows and put it on their stand and run it at a Vauxhall rolling road day.. as was Jokenot another member on here who also bought a scooby and went along with Migweb.

I have to Say.. IMO the members on SWS are far more friendly than the ones on Migweb... well the SW... ones are anyway..
