RA Rebuild

Well as some of you may know the Ra got stripped over a year ago now... The Monza kit got sold to Stevowrx. and may other parts were taken by friends etc to repair their broken cars.

Well Now it's time to bring the old girl back to life...

I am not going the full kit as before... but its going to be just a little different from std.

I have fitted a 2.5 short engine, and plan to fit a Simtek when run in.

however, here are a few pics of the work i am currently doing with the old girl.

I got 5 ltrs of 2K paint.... and Activator... 4 Ltrs 2k Primer & hardner as well as a spray gun for under £60 delivered.

2K paint is usually minimum of £35+vat per ltr.

It should have been Red... But you get what you pay for. :redface:

Ok, today, i spent the entire day working on the new side skirts... Which when arrived were cracked and split down the middle.

As you see they look a bit trick.

About time you made some progress on this one Derek, good luck with it all as it looks like you`ve got your work cut out. Those sideskirts should look pretty smart but, are you going to do the mesh a different colour from the paintowrk so that they stand out a bit?

Will have a blue Neon behind it too..

i`m not covinced by the colour but I`ll wait until its all finished to comment any further than that about it.

fair enough, so other than its cheap why paint it that colour? You could save that for a cheap car tha needs some borywork tidying up that you could then sell to some young girl who`s learning to drive :)

Today... the car had a refit... and a god flatten and Polish...

Tomorrow it will have the Bonnet... Front Bumper and Boot Spoiler painted.

well i'll be putting mine back on for rally day but i've just sold that carbon thing and purchased an original RA boot lid , never had a hole in it EVER , got painted today (well,friday) and had me seibon CF bonnet fitted as well , with pins .

picking it up tomorrow, will take some snaps :biggrin:

Ok.. so a couple of bits to sort.. need to change the grille, as the bonnet will not close with this one....

and need to get some fog light covers... but other than a Quick flatten and polish of the front bumper tomorrow... it is all but finished...
