Have received replacement filter for my APS induction kit & it comes pre-oiled.

Therefore, I assume I will need to clean the oil off, so whats the easiest & best method.

oil sticks too the hot wire on the maf.........

i advise to remove it....the guaze does an ample job at filtration.......

i allways clean em off with petrol or degreaser....

I agree with the Daddy on this one definetly. oil will bugger the MAF. Pipercross even tell you not to oil the filter as a result. Personally i'm using their filter cleaner, seems to work a treat.

Better by some cleaner then.

I assume the K&N cleaner is OK.

Looking through some other sites, it appears that the K&N is ok to use when lightly oiled due to the construction, unlike oiled foam filters.

I cant be assed to clean the old filter.

With 350 bhp I would advise the filter oil be removed before fitting. On a 200-250 bhp scoob the suction through the airbox is not to bad and a very light oiling is ok. Once you start getting into the 300 + bhp there is so much air passing the airbox even a little oiling will be sucked up. The MAF wire is hot and the oil will stick to it like glue. Caking the wire making it read incorrectly. I have even had air filters split at over 300 bhp with the suction.

you mention with an airbox bob, mine is a cold air induction.

Even with my induction kit I made sure no oil was on the filter. I do not use MAF anymore but still do not use oil on the cone.
