Roof Vent?

What does everybody think of roof vents? I think I need one but the other half thinks its daft...also how do they fix to the roof and can they be functional or are they just for looks?

its possible to have functional roof vents but you would need to cut the roof for it although I believe the kit is normally around £200. then you get the add on non-functional part like the one I have on mine. On my old one I used mastic to hold it on and i believe this one has bodykit bond of some sort
