Has anyone done this before and if so how did you secure it in the boot ?

I've got a Fli twin 12 inch sub enclosure and no brackets / straps were supplied - some people have said about using "No More Nails" to stick some MDF under the carpet, taking out the subs themselves and then screwing the enclosure into the MDF? The problem with this is that the boot is not exactly even under the carpet so there won't be a great deal of contact with the glue and the MDF.

Your advice please ...

I used to have a sub in the boot of my mondeo that just had some strong velcro on the bottom of it (the hooking bit) Never moved while I was driving :)

you need to use some 2x2 to make up spacers to level the MDF. No point in using no nails, if you use 12mm MDF the weight will keep it in place.

Screech has done this in his Type-r...

I have done it in a few others and never used any no nails etc.

You could use some spray glue to secure the carpet to the floor..

I have mine secured by a bungy strap, works well if you can find somewhere to clip the two ends too

Buy some extra strong self adhesive velcro. That'll do the trick
