Cancelled Again!!!!

The Cornish meet for March will be cancelled due to the lack of interest again!!


I have spoken to A4KBS and we have agreed that it's not worth him driving down from Bude and us driving up from Camborne for a meet with just 2 cars.

I will still arrange the next few monthly meets but if no one can be bothered whats the point?

if it is a weekend meet in the summer im sure me and liz will make the effort and make a weekend of it

we do the same with hartys meets. gone down torquay for the day the go to the meet at night

Is the geography a problem?
How many members do we have that far south?
Is it the case that as you move to the outskirts of the country you are going to get less take up?
If people aren't coming then maybe you should stop trying.

I don't think it's the geography so much, ok I am a bit further down the county like 20ish miles from lands end and some of the meets have been pretty central meaning that we have to drive 35mls to get there, and on more than one occasion we have driven up to the Exmouth meets one of which was for an hour. Perhaps people are taking the cost of fuel into account and finding it too expensive I dunno?.
I will carry on arranging meets but I won't be booking anywhere as it makes us look bad when I have to cancel, unless we have definate numbers.
See what the sun brings out, things might be different.

Or if any of the Cornish members have a suggestion for a meet they can always pm me.

Stefan do you send the members in your area a P.M linking to the meet?

I usually send out a P.M to all my members when i post the meet, and if the numbers are down nearer the time i send out a reminder.

Perhaps you should contact them and ask if they want the meets and if so when is best for them... maybe a change of day or week would be better for most of them to attend?

My Numbers were down most of last year, but after finding out that most of the members would prefer the last Sunday of every month we set it to that.

hi, i came to the nov plym/cornwall meet last year but took the car off the road for work so was unable to go to the meets since then. i put a thread on sn this week trying to get interest in meets and only had 3 or 4 interested! i know of some on sc also that would atand, how about a meet in cornwall for all clubs? plus the clocks go forward soon, that must help!!!!

Thats what we've been doing with the Glos meets - posting them on SN and other clubs to get more interest!! It def works! : )
