First picked the car up in September having agreed to buy it a few months before with a blown headgasket. The car was delivered to enginetuner in Plymouth to have the heads reconditioned and a Simtek ecu fitted with optional antilag. Power at the time was recorded at 278 bhp and 270 lb/ft torque due to it having a slightly whiny turbo and an intercooler thats seen better days

Pics of when i first got it:

Once I got it back on the rock I gave it a good clean and got some better pics:

Fitted my FMIC over xmas :) Seems to take a fair while to do lol
Took everything off first:
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c79/1tiny05/my%20scoob/sti/FMIC/DSC00330.jpg
Then I trial fitted my 22b bumper that I still haven`t prepped lol
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c79/1tiny05/my%20scoob/sti/FMIC/DSC00331.jpg
Fitted the FMIC:
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c79/1tiny05/my%20scoob/sti/FMIC/DSC00337.jpg
Got myself a new Induction kit so fitted that too:
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c79/1tiny05/my%20scoob/sti/FMIC/DSC00338.jpg
Then I found some old heating duct in my grandad`s workshop so I claimed that as a cold air feed :)

When fitting the FMIC I found it easier to get the 22b bumper to fit so on it went:

http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c79/1tiny05/my%20scoob/sti/FMIC/DSC00683.jpg
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c79/1tiny05/my%20scoob/sti/FMIC/DSC00682.jpg

However, after a month of driving around with the 22b bumper fitted, I decided I didn`t like the quality of it. So at the weekend I chopped more of the sti bumper up and eventually got it to fit :)

I know what you mean Bob but i do prefer the look of the 22b bumper. Its just the quality of it was so poor it had to come off. Am tempted to go for a 4 door 22b kit at some stage so will get new bumpers front and rear then

Nice one... Top Job...

As you know I have Always liked that Car... right back when Ben & Lou had it....

And i also like cars to be Individual.... and the 22B bumper did set it apart... as the 22B is Rare....

However I agree with Bob...... It looks Much better with the STD Bumper....

Perhaps a set of Spots in the 22B bumper would make it look better....

Its difficult to see the Quality from the pics....

tiny

Cheers Derek, if I remember tomorrow while bumming around I`ll get some pics of the 22b bumper so you can get an idea of what i mean

Very nice .... love white (nearly as good as black).

What bhp is she running now ?

tiny
19-02-2008, 14:57 08
Last time it was recorded it was 278bhp and 270lb/ft torque. Although the fmic`s been fitted I wouldn`t expect to see any difference until the turbo`s done and mapped

that looks really nice mate, loving the FMIC too

a word of warning about the air filter, i bought one back a while and if you remove the carbon look cover the filter is about the size of a corneto cone, i fitted a HKS style one instead and the induction noise is a lot louder and its a lot easier to clean

Nice pics mate but

Why would you want advertising on the front window like you have?

no offence to sidc but think it would look better without ????

tiny
16-06-2008, 22:17 43
one thing I didn`t realise when I got them is quite how big they are! Also, while my gran`s garage was free, it spent 2 weeks in there being polished, the calipers painted and new disks and pads

Hopefully, all being well, within the next couple of weeks the wheels will be powdercoated too and then the t1-r`s will eventually be fitted :)

The only problem I`m having at the moment is I keep getting the tempatation to sell it :(

I`ve come to a bit of a stalling point at the moment. Part of me wants to sell up and either have some time out in a fabia or something for a while, another part wants me to sell mine and get a gorgeous blue type r thats for sale and a third part wants me to prep it for hillclimbing.
The problems I`ve come across so far are:
1. Garage offered me £3000 as part ex on the blue type R
2. Could I really bare to hear.see it driving around with someone else driving it
3. Prepping it to what I would class as acceptible for hillclimbing is going to cost me around £3300 by my reckoning
opinions?

the hillclimbing idea sounds a lot of fun,

tiny
30-06-2008, 21:06 14
Oh yes mate, I know it will be fun, but the outright record for our local hill is 27 seconds! I think a mate`s 340bhp impreza was doing 34`s roughly
