I only have one cat left, In the down pipe. If i change the the down pipe to a sports cat downpipe. Will my scoob over boost? without a remap. My scoob is a 03 wrx so i do not have the cat in the up pipe.

Is this cat pre turbo or the one just after?

Some do overboost but thats no problem. A £20 boost controller will sort that... Most of them are gererally OK with all cats removed. So a sports cat will help with boost pressure. Think it will be OK....Go for it...

if you are going for the extra bosst with the boost controller....in my opinion is a crude method as apposed to the correct restrictor orriface....make sure your fuellings up to scratch.......

Always worth going for uprated fuel pump if going over the fuel cut. But Graham is still staying in the ECU's peramiters and not going over fuel cut. A boost controller would only be used to keep the boost under the fuel cut. Would not think the boost controller would be needed though.
Graham had no problems with fueling at the last RR at Interpor. But yes when lifting boost an upgraded fuel pump is a wise move...

Hello mate, Im not going for more boost. I was just a bit worried about over boosting with a full decat. I know some of the older ecu did not cope so well.

So upgraded fuel pump would be a wise move then, just to be safe.

A upgraded fuel pump is always a good move.

BUT

Only really required if running higher boost. But then a remap is also required if boost is taken above the fuel cut...If you run boost ABOVE your ECU perameters a remap is required.

A std fuel pump will only supply enough fuel for the STD boost. Even then it is on max.

Back fire or just popping from exhaust when coming off throttle? You will get exhaust popping and a few flames..VTA dump valve and even more popping and flames...

unless you have changed it im prety sure you have got one in the up pipe!

i fitted a flamer kit to a uk300 a while ago and it wouldnt flame, after a bit of research i found out the wrx models have a cat up pipe but the sti models dont,

i removed his up pipe that did have a cat, fitted a straight through pipe and it flamed loads!

but back to your question about over boost etc...

from the work i have done you wont get a problem so go for it, you got nothing to loose except a hold back in power due to exhaust restrictions.

at the end of the day the better a turbo exhaust flows the quicker it boosts, that to me aint gona be a bad thing,

cheers, Tom

You don't need a regulator , just a remap as it seems a waste to have the exhaust etc if you aren't going to take advantage of the extra power on offer....
